Bernie Duffy

Title I Coordinator

Began at Teachwell:

 1991

Why did you choose this field?

My Dad was a teacher and my older brother was an inquisitive genius who inspired me to learn. The teaching profession is, among other things, a great place to learn.

What or who most inspires you?

Mostly documentaries about artists.  Also, I really admire people who take risks, and fail, and reinvent themselves.

What keeps you motivated?

At the risk of sounding corny and self-serving, it’s partly due to the fact that I really like the students. I also like my place of employment.

Goals for the future?

Explore a few artistic ideas. Paint a few pictures. Lower my cholesterol. Maybe learn how to drum well on a five gallon bucket.

What is your background experience – degrees, experience, skills?

BA from DWU. A quarter century with EDEC/Teachwell.  Skills: amateur filmmaker and artist.

What is the one thing you would like people to know about you?

None. There are several things I want them to forget.

What quirky thing are you known for around the office?

I am the least eccentric person I’ve ever met. My life is a slow and steady swim through the rivers of normalcy.
