What or who most inspires you?
Helping others find those aha moments, and helping them take action when they occur, inspires me.
Why did you choose this field?
I stumbled upon the career development field during grad school when I spent an afternoon at my campus career center, seeking out a summer internship. I decided to create my own internship – right there.
What was your favorite subject in school?
Psychology, writing, Spanish, computers, business.
How do you hope to make a difference?
I hope my work makes it a little easier for teachers, students, and the business community to navigate each other’s worlds & see overlapping interests & goals, and new possibilities. I also hope to make a difference by helping schools figure out how to embed the career development process into their students’ academic experience.
What is your background experience – degrees, experience, skills?
Master’s degree in Counseling/ Student Affairs, Bachelor’s degree in English Ed with Minors in Psychology & Gifted Education. I formerly ran career services programs at a liberal arts college and at a technical university, worked as a human resources manager, freelance writer, and English/psychology teacher.
