Meghan Solomon, MS CCC-SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist

Began at Teachwell:

 2019

Why did you choose this field?

Being an SLP is a challenging, rewarding, and evolving profession. It's a balancing act of science, art, problem solving, and human connection. It has allowed me the opportunity to work with individuals across the lifespan. I wanted to be challenged in my work and to be able to help.

Why Teachwell?

Teachwell is helping students, teachers, and professionals in so many exciting ways. Through teletherapy, Teachwell is able to reach people in communities with limited access to services. I'm honored to work with an amazing team at Teachwell and within the communities I serve via teletherapy.

What are you proudest of?

My family!

How do you hope to make a difference?

If I can make one person smile and know they are accepted exactly as they are, it has been a successful day.

What lessons has your work life taught you?

Human beings are so resilient.

What is your background? Experience, degrees, skills, etc.?

I graduated with my BA from Augustana University and with my MS from Minnesota State University-Mankato. I spent the first part of my career as a medical SLP working with adults across various settings. I worked to co-create an Aphasia Conversation Group with USD to support individuals in the community. I also had a special interest in working with swallowing and voice disorders for individuals with head and neck cancer. In 2019, I made the transition to becoming a school-based clinician with Teachwell. Over the last several years, I have developed new skills in teletherapy, SLPA supervision and have a special interest in evaluating and treating speech sound disorders.
