Began at Teachwell:
Why did you choose this field?
I absolutely love being an educator. I have dreamed of being a teacher since I was 6 years old so every single day I get to invest in students in a dream come true.
What did you think you were going to be when you grew up?
I thought I was going to be a teacher - and look at me, now!
What or who most inspires you?
I am most inspired by my children: Titus, Stella and Mallee. They are sweet and a little feisty - compelled to make messes and appreciate the small things.
Teachwell Academy aligns with my philosophy of education. All students can learn if given the appropriate opportunity and it is relationships that change student's lives.
What are you proudest of?
I am proud of the person I have become after all I have been through in life.
How do you hope to make a difference?
My desire is to see students grow - and with the help of my team, I believe that we can do just that.
What lessons has your work life taught you?
Like Bernard of Chartes and Issac Newton said, "If I have seen a little further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.” Teamwork is the ticket - this is not a one wo(man) show.
What is your background experience – degrees, experience, skills?
I hold a Bachelors degree in Global Studies from Colorado Christian University, a Masters degree in Education with a specialization in Teacher Leadership from Western Colorado University and two teaching licenses - one for secondary social studies and another for Education & Training. In May of 2021, I will graduate with an advanced graduate degree as a Educational Specialist in Curriculum & Instruction from Liberty University.
People would be surprised to know that I . . .
absolutely love arcades, like Chuck E Cheese and ticket-redemption games.
