Brianna Hoffman, COTA

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

Began at Teachwell:

 2021

Why did you choose this field?

I chose Occupational Therapy because I enjoy working with people of all ages to increase their skills needed for daily activities.

What did you think you were going to be when you grew up?

I love animals, so naturally I wanted to be a veterinarian.

Why Teachwell?

I enjoy working with children and Teachwell has given me the opportunity to do that in the school setting.

How do you hope to make a difference?

I hope to make a difference by helping students reach their goals so that they become more independent with their skills.

What lessons has your work life taught you?

I have worked with people of all ages (children to the elderly) due to my past work experiences. Therefore, I have learned to be flexible, patient, and understanding with all individuals. Since I have worked with all ages, I have also developed a passion for working with children.

What is your background? Experience, degrees, skills, etc.?

I have my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the College of St. Benedict/Saint John's University and I have my Associate's of Applied Science for OTA from St. Catherine University. I worked at Big Stone Therapies and Southwest West Central Service Cooperative in Minnesota. I now work in both the Brandon Valley School District and Harrisburg School District.

People would be surprised to know that I . . .

am a member of the Minnesota Army National Guard.
