Haley Brown, MS CCC-SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist

Began at Teachwell:

 2022

Why did you choose this field?

I chose the field of Speech Pathology because of the broad scope of practice that it offers. Everyday ‘at the office’ is a different day! I have enjoyed working in variety of settings, with a wide range of populations and diagnoses, all with the common goal of helping others achieve their goals in communication.

What did you think you were going to be when you grew up?

Well, this changed a lot through my younger years! Initially I declared a major in Special Education, switching to Communication Disorders after one semester.

What or who most inspires you?

The individuals I work with inspire me every day. They demonstrate passion, perseverance, and dedication by showing up and working at it every single day!

Why Teachwell?

The opportunity to work for Teachwell presented itself and it really felt like the stars aligned. It was important to me to be a part of a team of SLPs to continue to collaborate and learn from one another. Teachwell offers just that! The staff at Teachwell have been nothing short of supportive and encouraging, making the transition a great experience.

What are you proudest of?

My family!

What is your background? Experience, degrees, skills, etc.?

I received both my B.S. and M.S through Minnesota State University, Mankato. After graduating, I took a job that allowed me to work with individuals ranging from birth to geriatric with variety of diagnoses. Next, I transitioned to working in the hospital setting for 6 years with areas of interest including: dysphagia and neurogenic communication disorders. I am looking forward to the opportunity to continue to grow as a clinician as I transition to the school-based setting with Teachwell.
