Why did you choose this field?

I've always loved school so it made sense to me to take this path. I love sharing my passion for a subject with others and watching it grow in them.

What did you think you were going to be when you grew up?

Why Teachwell?

After being in public schools for over a decade, I am excited for a change and trying something new. I believe strongly in what Teachwell does and love that we are able to offer a variety of services to districts that may not otherwise get them.

How do you hope to make a difference?

I am excited to be able to offer Deaf Ed services to students that otherwise wouldn't have it. I hope that I am able to make a difference in their lives and help them learn to navigate the world and their culture.

What lessons has your work life taught you?

Flexibility! Having to change a lesson on the fly or make changes because of someone else's schedule has made me learn to be more "go with the flow."

What is your background? Experience, degrees, skills, etc.?

I have a BA from Augustana with majors in Deaf Education, English, and Secondary Education. I was a Deaf educator and sign language teacher in Elkton and Harrisburg for a total of 4 years and taught high school English and sign language at Tri-Valley and Brandon Valley for a total of 8 years.
