Why did you choose this field?

I love working with children. I found that I have a desire to help children with disabilities improve their communication skills so they can succeed to their full potential.

What did you think you were going to be when you grew up?

I thought about pursuing a degree in broadcast journalism. Soon I realized that my passion for working with children was my true calling.

What or who most inspires you?

I am inspired by people with positive energy and I love to gather with friends and share a good laugh! Professionally; I am inspired when a student gives me that Ah-ha look and smile when they succeed at a difficult task.

Why Teachwell?

I have many friends/colleagues that work for this organization and I see how much they love their jobs! This appears to be an excellent opportunity for me at this time and I’m excited to be apart of the Teachwell team.

What are you proudest of?

My two sons and my loving husband.

How do you hope to make a difference?

I hope to make a difference by using my knowledge and experience in this field to the best of my ability so that children with disabilities can reach their full potential. Showing kindness and empathy for others will continue to be my mantra.

What lessons has your work life taught you?

I think it is important to keep a work- life balance.

What is your background? Experience, degrees, skills, etc.?

I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Disorders and Elementary Teacher Certification at South Dakota State University. I have 34 years experience working as a public school Speech Language Pathologist.
