Job and Career Development

Teachwell's Job and Career Development program offers a number of supports to career-bound high school students and adults seeking employment.

Services for High School Students

Internships and Service Learning

Since 2008, Teachwell has assisted local school districts in developing internship sites and curriculum. Teachwell career development staff is available to help districts launch new programs, expand business partnership bases, and secure on-call support in program management.

Job Shadow Services

Districts have utilized this popular service in many ways:  CTE classes, special education/transition counselor referrals, junior class job shadows, school-wide job shadow days, and teacher externships and professional development.

Transition

Teachwell Transition Consulting:  Does your special education department need assistance with transition?  Whether it's consulting with staff and families, or helping to manage your district's Project Skills program, Teachwell can assist.  This service is typically a great support for teachers who are new to transition.

Teachwell Strive (New in Fall of 2020).  Teachwell currently offers three transition programs, including the newly launched 'Strive' program.  Designed for students ages 18-21 with IEPs, the Strive program aims to support students on their path from high school to a meaningful career.  Students can start the Strive program in either August or January, in line with Southeast Technical College's fall/spring semesters.  Please contact kristy.jackson@teachwell.org for more information and program deadlines.

Adult Service

Teachwell's partnership with Vocational Rehabilitation Services allows us to provide job development services for individuals with disabilities. Those services include assisting with job searches, resume development and interview preparation; along with job coaching and follow along services once employment is obtained.

Teachwell provides adult services for students who have completed our transition programs, as well as other adults referred to us by the State Department of Vocational Rehabilitation Services.
