Why did you choose this field?

I entered this field, because communication is so important!

What did you think you were going to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a meteorologist...I'm not sure why, because I was terrified of severe weather.

What or who most inspires you?

I am inspired by my parents, because they worked hard to build their business while still focusing on spending time together as a family.

What are you proudest of?

I am proud of my family of 3.

How do you hope to make a difference?

I hope to help students increase their communication skills.

What lessons has your work life taught you?

Building relationships with students, staff members and families is important.

What is your background? Experience, degrees, skills, etc.?

I obtained a bachelor's degree in Contemporary Media and Journalism (w/ an emphasis in Public Relations) from USD. My first job out of college was a marketing position at Adaptivation, Inc. (located in Sioux Falls). It was through this job that I discovered the field of Speech & Language Pathology. After working several years at Adaptivation, Inc., I went back to school at USD to obtain my master's degree in Speech & Language Pathology. I worked for the Sioux Falls School District as an SLP for 7 years.
