Why did you choose this field?

I chose this field because I think that all students should have someone who believes in them and will help them be the best version of themselves.

What did you think you were going to be when you grew up?

An archaeologist! I read every single book on Egyptian history that our library had. I still love history.

What or who most inspires you?

I’m most inspired by seeing a student light up when they have the confidence that they understand a concept. That aha moment is magical!

What are you proudest of?

Without a doubt, my own children. They are growing into incredible people with deep compassion for others.

How do you hope to make a difference?

I hope that I can inspire students to work hard, be kind and be confident in who they are.

What is your background? Experience, degrees, skills, etc.?

I have been working with individuals with disabilities in a volunteer or professional basis for nearly ten years. The last 6 were in the Sioux Falls School District.
