Why did you choose this field?

I enjoy helping children, and I wanted to teach students new skills. I come from a family of teachers, and they inspired me to go into this profession. I also wanted to be a positive role model to help children learn.

What did you think you were going to be when you grew up?

I always knew I wanted to be a teacher. It was something that has been in my family for over 50 years.

What or who most inspires you?

My family, and my faith.

Why Teachwell?

I wanted to be somewhere that I can inspire and help students in purposeful way.

What are you proudest of?

I am proudest of my family, and how they support and inspire me to do better every day. I also am proudest that I am a reflective educator and can pivot to help when needed.

How do you hope to make a difference?

I hope to make a difference with students and help them be successful.

What lessons has your work life taught you?

There are so many lessons I have learned, but the pattern I have noticed is that I always come from a place of curiosity and empathy in helping me understand the situation.

What is your background? Experience, degrees, skills, etc.?

I have been in education in over 34 years, and I have taught elementary, middle and high school students in both special education and general education. I have been fortunate to teach in 3 different states, and learn from my fellow teachers in multiple settings. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education and General Education and a M.Ed degree in teaching, learning and administration.

People would be surprised to know that I . . .

I was a traveling nanny and  traveled all over the world when I was younger.
