Erin Travica, MOTR/L

Occupational Therapist

Began at Teachwell:

 2024

Why did you choose this field?

My aunt is an OT and she inspired me to join the wonderful field of occupational therapy. I always knew I didn't want a desk job and I love helping people -- especially kids.

What did you think you were going to be when you grew up?

A teacher!

Why Teachwell?

I knew a lot of great people who went to Teachwell so I knew it would be an amazing place to work. I am fortunate to have such a wonderful team of people to work with and I feel lucky to be a part of this team.

What are you proudest of?

My family, including my husband (Brett) and three daughters (Elida, Hanna, and Alice).

How do you hope to make a difference?

I want people, especially children, to know they are important and loved.

What is your background? Experience, degrees, skills, etc.?

Undergraduate school at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, Graduate school at University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND. My first job was at an inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility in Devils Lake, ND. From there I worked for Sanford in an acute setting for 6 years and then home health for 4 1/2 years.

People would be surprised to know that I . . .

grew up playing the violin, piano, and organ!
