Why did you choose this field?

You can say that Physical Therapy chose me. At an early age, I saw Physical Therapists positively impacting some very special people in my life. These experiences fueled my desire to grow up to help and serve others as they did.

What did you think you were going to be when you grew up?

A nurse and a mom.

What or who most inspires you?

Many of my patients. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with many people facing extremely difficult situations and diagnoses. Seeing the determination of these patients to "beat the odds" and work so hard to accomplish their goals always inspires me.

Why Teachwell?

I have had multiple friends who work for Teachwell, and they have been telling me so many positive things about the company, their coworkers, the care they are able to give kids and families, and the balance working here has brought to their lives.

What are you proudest of?

My family. My husband has a heart for serving others, and my kids are growing into special unique individuals.

How do you hope to make a difference?

I hope that I can give kids a positive moment in their day, and that I can encourage and empower them to reach their potential.

What lessons has your work life taught you?

That we can't take life or work too seriously. While working hard is important, work and life are more enjoyable when you're having fun. We need to make sure that we enjoy the moments before us.

What is your background? Experience, degrees, skills, etc.?

I received my bachelors at Northwestern College in Orange City, IA, and then attended the University of South Dakota for my Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree. I briefly worked in acute care, and then put in many years as an inpatient rehabilitation and aquatic therapist.
