Why did you choose this field?

I chose a career in occupational therapy because I am passionate about helping others and empowering children to gain independence in meaningful activities.

What did you think you were going to be when you grew up?

A pharmacist!

What or who most inspires you?

My grandmother, Betty. She is 100 years old, and continues to exemplify the importance of meaningful connections and the lasting impact of kindness.

What are you proudest of?

I am most proud of the progress my students and patients make, watching their growth and success such an incredibly rewarding experience.

How do you hope to make a difference?

I hope to make a difference by enhancing the quality of life for students and empowering them to engage in meaningful activities independently.

What lessons has your work life taught you?

Occupational therapy has taught me the importance of lifelong learning and collaboration.

What is your background? Experience, degrees, skills, etc.?

I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Childhood and Adolescent Development, and a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy with a specialty in pediatrics. I have three years of experience, with a primary focus on working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder.

I am originally from the suburbs of Chicago, IL. I moved to South Dakota in 2017 to pursue my undergraduate degree at University of South Dakota.
