Jerry Erickson

Technology Manager

Began at Teachwell:

 2021

Why did you choose this field?

I have had an interest in technology since I took apart our color tv as a child.

What did you think you were going to be when you grew up?

A software/computer engineer or a movie director.

What or who most inspires you?

Learning something new every day inspires me.

Why Teachwell?

I knew some of the staff before I started and knew they were passionate about what they do. That is why I want to be part of Teachwell.

What are you proudest of?

Giving every student and teacher a chance to use technology to learn and teach with is what I am proudest about.

How do you hope to make a difference?

By allowing everyone to have access to working technology so they can learn.

What lessons has your work life taught you?

That no matter what you do and experience there is always something you can get better at.

What is your background? Experience, degrees, skills, etc.?

I have been working with technology all my life. I love reading manuals. I have had many life experiences that lead me here. I went to college for one year and worked at Gateway for five years and was a computer specialist for 21 years. I have built many computers and ran a lot of cables and soldered many chips. I am foremost a troubleshooter. I like to try things even if it involves the simplest of fixes. You never know what you are going to see in the future and you just have to keep learning.

People would be surprised to know that I . . .

I was born with three thumbs (two thumbs on my right hand) and I was a Canadian Carnie for one summer.
