Katie Wilke, MS CCC-SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist

Began at Teachwell:

 2026

Why did you choose this field?

My mom always thought this would be a good fit and after a short term mission trip during undergrad (where I worked with kids that didn't understand or speak English), I knew I wanted to work with the pediatric population and work with them to understand what was being said and express their own thoughts and ideas.

What did you think you were going to be when you grew up?

A lawyer

Why Teachwell?

A friend (Kelly) told me what good care Teachwell takes of their employees, and that there is no better place to work for.

What are you proudest of?

My kids

How do you hope to make a difference?

The whole reason I chose the profession/occupation that I did was because I wanted to make a difference in the lives of the children I work with, by giving them the strategies and tools to process and share their thoughts and ideas with others.

What lessons has your work life taught you?

There is always something more I can learn/try.

What is your background? Experience, degrees, skills, etc.?

I received my Master's of Science degree in Speech- Language Pathology through the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2008. Since that time I have served the pediatric population in both the schools and outpatient environment. With a background heavy in the assessment and treatment of communication disorders in early intervention and preschool, I thrive in working with parents to determine the keys to unlocking each child's communication.

People would be surprised to know that I . . .

Worked part time in tax resolution during covid.
