Krista Halseth, MA, CCC-SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist

Began at Teachwell:

 2020

Why did you choose this field?

Initially I choose speech therapy because I wanted to do something in education or the health care field. I am so happy I did because I've had the opportunity to work in both of these settings as a speech-language pathologist.

What did you think you were going to be when you grew up?

I thought I would go into business until I took a business class my freshman year in college.

What or who most inspires you?

My grandpa inspires me. He is the happiest and friendliest guy you will ever meet.

Why Teachwell?

I love that Teachwell strives to help children be the best version of themselves. I feel blessed to work with an amazing team of professionals.

What are you proudest of?

My family. I am thankful to have my kids and husband by my side each day.

How do you hope to make a difference?

I hope to help my students improve their speech and overall communication skills and have fun along the way.

What lessons has your work life taught you?

I have learned that when my students have to work hard for something, it is such a sweet blessing to witness progress.

What is your background? Experience, degrees, skills, etc.?

I received my undergraduate degree in Communication Disorders and my Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology from the University of South Dakota. I have worked in the hospital setting, the South Dakota School for the Deaf, and the school setting. It has been fun to experience my career working with a wide variety of clients/students.

People would be surprised to know that I . . .

love to be at the lake. It has been one of my favorite places since I was a little girl. My family and I spend as much time at the lake in the summer as we can.
