Why did you choose this field?

I chose teaching because I believe in the power of education to transform lives. I'm especially passionate about supporting students who've faced challenges, helping them feel seen, capable, and safe so they can thrive in and beyond the classroom.

What did you think you were going to be when you grew up?

I thought I'd be a writer or performer- someone who inspired others. Teaching ended up being the perfect way to combine creativity, connection, and purpose.

What or who most inspires you?

I'm inspired by people who keep going when its hard - especially students who show up, try again, and keep learning despite the challenges they face. I'm also inspired by my own kids, who remind me every day why kindness, honesty and healing matter.

Why Teachwell?

Teachwell's mission aligns with my heart. I was drawn to the opportunity to support students who need extra care and structure, and I could tell right away that this was the right fit for me.

What are you proudest of?

I'm proudest of my resilience and my commitment to growth. I've overcome major personal and physical challenges, and I bring that strength and empathy into my work with students every day.

How do you hope to make a difference?

I hope to create a classroom where students feel safe, respected, and empowered to grow. My goal is to support both their learning and their healing.

What lessons has your work life taught you?

I've learned that consistency, compassion, and flexibility are key. Every student has a story, and taking time to understand it can open the door to real learning.

What is your background? Experience, degrees, skills, etc.?

I have experience working with children and youth in both educational and therapeutic settings. I specialise in Special Education and trauma-informed care, with skills in behavior support, individualized instruction and building trust with students.

People would be surprised to know that I . . .

flew a plane as a teen when in the Civil Air Patrol, taught online before it was mainstream, and love everything from NASCAR to Renaissance fairs and cosplay. I contain multitudes-- and probably glitter.
