Lindsey Hasvold, MA CCC-SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist

Began at Teachwell:

 2025

Why did you choose this field?

I had family in both the medical and educational field. I was torn! My roommate in undergrad introduced me to speech therapy, a great combination of the two. I switched my major and never looked back.

What did you think you were going to be when you grew up?

Either a teacher or a lawyer!

What or who most inspires you?

My immediate family! All of us have chosen slightly different career paths. My siblings and parents both work hard to become experts in their area. They are the best motivators.

Why Teachwell?

The people at Teachwell! I felt drawn to the energy of the people that greeted me the first day I stepped in. Everyone was so kind and inviting.

What are you proudest of?

I am most proud of the individuals I see and their efforts to work on something that is challenging for them head on. I am also proud of the parents who take what we do in therapy and implement it at home. It is all hard work!

How do you hope to make a difference?

I hope to build stronger awareness in parents / those who help support an individual on how they can implement our therapy strategies at home or in the community!

What lessons has your work life taught you?

We take our ability to communicate for granted!

What is your background? Experience, degrees, skills, etc.?

I have my Masters of Arts in Speech Language Pathology from USD. I have spent my first two years with more of a focus on treatment and evaluation of pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders. I also have experience with high and low tech AAC for a wide variety of diagnoses.

People would be surprised to know that I . . .

want to get into art as a hobby!
