Why did you choose this field?

I love working with children and young adults, helping them improve their communication to enjoy their lives to the fullest.

What did you think you were going to be when you grew up?

I thought I would be a teacher, so speech therapist is pretty close.

What or who most inspires you?

My mother has always been an inspiration to me.

What are you proudest of?

I am most proud of my family and their caring attitudes.

How do you hope to make a difference?

I hope to help students improve their speech and language in areas that may not have easy access to speech therapy.

What lessons has your work life taught you?

Enjoy time spent with students-get to know them and they are much more likely to enjoy their time with you.

What is your background? Experience, degrees, skills, etc.?

I received my bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of South Dakota. I worked as a speech-language pathologist for a year in the Cornbelt Cooperative and then 30 years in the Sioux Falls School district with a wide variety of children and disabilities.
