Why did you choose this field?

I have always enjoyed working with children and young adults. I want to create a positive and lasting impact on students' lives.

What did you think you were going to be when you grew up?

In highschool, I thought I would have been a nurse, but my job as a Occupational Therapy Assistant lead me to a lifelong career in education.

What or who most inspires you?

Working moms! I am inspired by women who work full time while managing and maintaining a household.

Why Teachwell?

I wanted to work in an educational setting that is knowledgeable about teaching neurodivergent students, while assisting them in succeeding and growing into future adults.

What are you proudest of?

While working full time as a educational assistant and taking care of my family, I earned my teaching degree. I spent many late nights and weekends working hard for the job I have now at Teachwell.

How do you hope to make a difference?

By building positive relationships with students. I hope that I can help them with achieving their future goals.

What lessons has your work life taught you?

Communication is the key to being successful at work and in life.

What is your background? Experience, degrees, skills, etc.?

I have an Associates Degree in Occupational Therapy from LATC. I have worked in several school districts in Southeastern South Dakota providing OT services for 17 years. After a move, I decided to go back to school and get my teaching degree through DSU. While working as an Educational Assistant I got my teaching degree. I taught special education for 4 years before coming to Teachwell. I have worked with many students of various ages and disabilities.
