Why did you choose this field?

Speech-Language Pathology is such a broad scope and offers a variety of opportunities within the field, in terms of settings, populations, and diagnoses. I enjoy variety!

What did you think you were going to be when you grew up?

A lawyer.

What or who most inspires you?

Who: My family and my friends and my patients/clients/students!

What: Authenticity.

Why Teachwell?

I see Teachwell as movers and shakers, doing innovative things, in their settings! Teachwell also provided an opportunity for me to further expand my horizons and encouraged my vision for what I saw as my next chapter professionally!

What are you proudest of?

I'm proud of my nephew and my niece.

How do you hope to make a difference?

I hope to make a positive impact on the lives of people that I work with! I also hope to instill confidence in their journey! I truly enjoy helping people!

What lessons has your work life taught you?

Communication is the key to success!

What is your background? Experience, degrees, skills, etc.?

I received my Bachelor's Degree as well as my Master's Degree from The University of South Dakota. I have worked for Avera for nearly 11 years across multiple settings (Acute Care, Swing Bed, Outpatient, ILF, ALF, LTC, B-3, Schools) and across the lifespan, literally, from 2 weeks old to 102 years old! I've done it ALL! I'm also VitalStim certified and LSVT LOUD certified.

People would be surprised to know that I . . .

am a diehard Baltimore Ravens fan and have been since their inception! It's a long story! I'm a huge sports' fan and also extremely competitive!
